A line item such as S135 drill pipe may identify the basic product family, but it does not define the complete joint that will arrive at the rig.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For a \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0641\u0631 contractor or OCTG buyer, the finished configuration matters. \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0646\u0627\u0628\u064a\u0628-body \u0627\u0644\u0628\u0639\u062fs, nominal \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0632\u0646, upset, tool-\u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629 geometry, rotary-shouldered \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629, weld-zone condition, \u0627\u0644\u062a\u0641\u062a\u064a\u0634 scope, and traceability all affect whether new \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0646\u0627\u0628\u064a\u0628 can be introduced into an existing \u0633\u0627\u0642 \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0641\u0631 without creating avoidable coMPatibility or acceptaNCe problems. The buyer needs to know exactly what technical configuration the quotation represents.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A finished <a href=\"__PROTECTED_0__\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-secondary-color\">\u0623\u0646\u0628\u0648\u0628 \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0641\u0631<\/mark><\/a> order normally brings several product elements together. The buyer should verIFy what the relevant \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0631\u0643\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0635\u0646\u0639\u0629&#8217;s licensed scope actually covers and which organization is responsible for the finished assembly being supplied.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An API claim on a quotation does not answer questions such as who produced the \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0646\u0627\u0628\u064a\u0628 body, where the \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629s came from, or who released the assembled \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629. Those details belong in the technical and traceability review.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Follow the Production Chain, Not the CoMPany Label<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The dIFfereNCe between a \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0648\u0631\u062f and a <strong>\u0623\u0646\u0628\u0648\u0628 \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0641\u0631 \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0631\u0643\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0635\u0646\u0639\u0629<\/strong> is often discussed too simplistically.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Buying directly from a \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0631\u0643\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0635\u0646\u0639\u0629 can shorten part of the supply chain, but ownership of manufacturing equipment is not the only issue that matters to the project. A \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0648\u0631\u062f may coordinate production from qualIFied sources, maintain stock, manage third-party \u0627\u0644\u062a\u0641\u062a\u064a\u0634, or assemble a project-\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0648\u0627\u0635\u0641\u0627\u062aIFic \u0627\u0644\u062a\u0633\u0644\u064a\u0645 from approved \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0631\u0643\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0635\u0646\u0639\u0629s.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The buyer still needs a clear answer to the same questions:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Who \u0627\u0644\u062a\u0635\u0646\u064a\u0639d the \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0646\u0627\u0628\u064a\u0628 body?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who supplied or \u0627\u0644\u062a\u0635\u0646\u064a\u0639d the \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who completed and released the finished assembly?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Which \u0627\u0644\u062a\u0641\u062a\u064a\u0634 records belong to that \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0627\u062f\u0629?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can the physical marking be recoNCiled with the documents delivered with the shipment?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0648\u0631\u062f that cannot answer these questions consistently creates a traceability problem even IF the product description on the commercial invoice looks correct.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conversely, a supply chain involving more than one organization is not automatically a problem IF the approved manufacturing source and document trail remain clear.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For procurement purposes, the stronger test is therefore not simply \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0648\u0631\u062f or \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0631\u0643\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0635\u0646\u0639\u0629? It is whether the technical responsibility remains visible from the approved \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0648\u0627\u0635\u0641\u0627\u062a to the \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629 received at the yard.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why a Short \u0623\u0646\u0628\u0648\u0628 \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0641\u0631 Description Can Be INComplete<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nominal \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0646\u0627\u0628\u064a\u0628 OD, \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0632\u0646, \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0631\u062c\u0629 and \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629 designation are important purchasing identIFiers, but they still may not fully define the finished \u0623\u0646\u0628\u0648\u0628 \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0641\u0631 \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629. Tool-\u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629 OD and ID can change the actual \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629 geometry and the published operating limits even when the \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0646\u0627\u0628\u064a\u0628 body itself remains uNChanged.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A useful example appears in NOV Grant Prideco&#8217;s published HDD \u0623\u0646\u0628\u0648\u0628 \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0641\u0631 configurations. The two \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629s below use the same \u0627\u0644\u0623\u0646\u0627\u0628\u064a\u0628-body OD, nominal \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0632\u0646, \u0633\u0645\u0627\u0643\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u062c\u062f\u0627\u0631, S135 \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0631\u062c\u0629 and NC50 \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629. The tool-\u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629 OD is also identical. INCreasing the published tool-\u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629 ID from <strong>2-3\/4 in. to 3-1\/4 in.<\/strong> iNCreases the bore by <strong>0.500 in.<\/strong>, while the published maximum make-up \u0639\u0632\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0648\u0631\u0627\u0646 decreases from <strong>38,000 ft-lb to 30,700 ft-lb<\/strong>. That is a dIFfereNCe of <strong>7,300 ft-lb<\/strong>, or about <strong>19%<\/strong> relative to the 38,000 ft-lb configuration. The published maximum pullback remains uNChanged at 560,800 lb.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This coMParISOn does <strong>not<\/strong> mean that 38,000 ft-lb or 30,700 ft-lb is a universal API NC50 make-up \u0639\u0632\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0648\u0631\u0627\u0646. These are \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0631\u0643\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0635\u0646\u0639\u0629-published values for the \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0648\u0627\u0635\u0641\u0627\u062aIFic Grant Prideco HDD configurations shown above. Their value in a \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0648\u0631\u062f review is to demonstrate that the \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629 name alone does not describe every performaNCe-relevant feature of the finished \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For an \u0627\u0644\u0646\u0641\u0637field \u0623\u0646\u0628\u0648\u0628 \u0627\u0644\u062d\u0641\u0631 purchase, the same procurement priNCiple applies: body OD, nominal \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0632\u0646 and \u0627\u0644\u062f\u0631\u062c\u0629 should be reviewed together with the exact \u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629, tool-\u0627\u0644\u0648\u0635\u0644\u0629 OD and ID, upset configuration and any \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0631\u0643\u0629 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0635\u0646\u0639\u0629-\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0648\u0627\u0635\u0641\u0627\u062aIFic make-up requirements. A description such as <strong>5 in.
